acorn & will

Keeping with the vintage theme, here’s my favourite accessory of the moment, my lovely retro inspired badge.

It never fails to get a comment and so for everyone who has admired it I’m only too happy to reveal the source….. it came from acorn & will who also exhibited at the Pick 'n' Mix Makers Market back in May. Their stand was full of quirky vintage bits and bobs and pretty accessories.

The next Pick ‘n’ Mix is on 20th Nov. It promises to be yet another fabulous event so don’t forget to put the date in the diary!

I Knit Weekender

Posted: Friday, September 17, 2010

Last Friday I took High Fibre on the road and travelled to London to take part in the I Knit Weekender. Despite a very early start (3.30 am anyone?... long hours, lots of coffee... ) it was great to be 'front of house' for a change.

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it a success and also for all the lovely feedback about High Fibre....

The colourful stand next to me belonged to Jayne from Ida’s House. It was brimming with vintage knitting and sewing items, buttons and books, all previously enjoyed in another era.

Inspired by her Grandmother’s haberdashery shop she is an avid collector and any spare time is spent sourcing those unique finds. Jayne should be named ‘Queen of the Beehive' ....the Patons & Baldwins wool holder that is, not the hairdo!

If you missed seeing us at I Knit, Jayne and I will both be exhibiting at Fibre Flurry on 30th October….
