ARTIVAN

Caravans…love them or loathe them? This is no ordinary caravan…this is the ARTIVAN!
It has been parked here for the last couple of days and has been a colourful sight from my studio window.
Our neighbour, Jo Chapman, was commissioned to decorate the outside. She often employs cutting techniques in her work as a visual artist and has cleverly used panels of vinyl to create a fabulous freestyle pattern.
Inside, the Artivan has been stripped out to create a deceptively airy workspace and gallery. It is owned by Cambs County Council and provides a place for Jo and other practicing artists to hold various workshops. Jo tells me it’s a lovely space to work in.
Art is not only everywhere but can now be anywhere.
Sadly, the decorating is finished for now and the Artivan is off on tour, which is a real shame as I was beginning to have designs on it myself….
